i love that it’s on Memphis blog, because i have had the pleasure of living through so many great Memphis moments through the years. I love that it’s written by someone who has been there, and I love that it’s a great example of how an everyday person can write.
Memphian’s blog has been around for a while now but this is the first time I’ve seen it in person. The blog’s been around for about a year but I’ve only seen it once or twice when I was in college. It’s funny because I was in Memphis one evening and met someone who was blogging.

Memphis, TN, is a city in the southeast part of the state, near the Tennessee-Arkansas border. It is also the state capital of the state of Tennessee. Our host, a man named Dave, works in the area and was gracious enough to give us access to his home. Dave’s wife loves Memphis so we’re more than just guests in his kitchen. It’s a big kitchen, with lots of open doors and a lot of cool appliances and gadgets.
Dave’s blog, Memphis Blog, is full of great information about the area and the culture, plus a lot of hilarious things like the fact that our host and his wife are both Elvis fans. It’s also full of some great community-oriented features, including a live link-up at the end of each day to the Memphis Blog Forum, which has a wide variety of topics and discussions.
I have to admit I kind of liked the Memphis Blog in its heyday. I’ve even used it to help me find a decent local meal, which I do a lot of. But most of the time it’s just a bunch of random links with little value. I’m not sure that it’s any better now, especially when I’m in a place where I know a ton of people.
This is a general problem with blogs, especially one with a lot of content. If you post a lot of links, the chances are that you are linking to very little. And it will come as a surprise to your readers that your links are not the best. And that they leave a lot to be desired.
This is one of the reasons I’ve become a big fan of blog posts. I have a lot of people to talk to, and I like to write about what they have to say. It’s a great way to get a lot of information in one place and to share it with a lot of readers.
The problem is that blogging is not the easiest way to get your content out there. It requires so much attention. I know because I have a lot of friends who have struggled with this. In some ways I still have to do my part. I send out a lot of emails. I make sure that all of my links are up to date. But the more I do this, the more I realize how much work I haven’t done to get them out there.
I know this is a bit of a double edged sword. Many bloggers I know are struggling with this because they feel that they need to be the absolute best they can be. I get it. I also understand the pressure that comes from having so much content out and for so many readers to be able to find it. But the truth is that the people who are posting content on this blog are so busy that it is unlikely that they will ever get to that point.
